Tattoo Artist: Jesse Smith
If you're into the new school, pop-surrealist-art-magazine-worthy kind of tattoo style, then Jesse Smith is the guy for you.
His new school works are phenomenal. Each tattoo has a mind-blowing concept of its own. Sometimes grotesque, sometimes fantastical, and all are beautifully rendered using vibrant colors and rich detailing. His works are best seen in large pieces, where he has the freedom to play it out some more and possibly tell a story through his famous smith-style characters. He makes colorful & twisted characters with big, glassy eyes and teeth rendered like graffiti characters in 3D. Once you get acquainted with his works, you'll automatically know a Jesse Smith when you see one. Jesse Smith is a tattooer at Loose Screw Tattoo, together with an awesome team of newschool tattoo artists. Meanwhile, here are 16 awesome newschool tattoos by Jesse Smith.

Jesse Smith's large pieces are full of action. Looking at each space, you'll see something bizarre happening.
The keys to a great large piece tattoo are the main concept (something you've never seen before that stuns or wows), the mix of textures (from smooth to soft to furry to scaly), the details applied in every area and the colors used and applied in such a way that it holds up long enough to last a lifetime.
At the age of 21, Jesse stumbled upon a guy named Carlos who just got out from jail, and Carlos enjoyed his art. He taught Jesse how to build a makeshift tattoo machine and it was since then that his passion in tattooing began.
Jesse consumed every minute of his life to learn about the art of tattooing---got a lot of ups, downs and learning curves and today he's taking Newschool tattoos on a whole nutha level!
Jesse Smith took up fine arts back in college, which gives him solid foundation in creating phenomenal works---such as this one, with an artistic touch of humor.
After getting a bachelor's degree from Fine Arts, he opened up a shop in Virginia and set up a team of equally talented tattooers. The shop is called "Loose Screw Tattoo". With one of his iconic cartoon characters on a screw as the logo.
