Megan Massacre's style can be described as "creepy yet cute", putting together dark images & beautiful, vibrant colors that result to a whimsical, timeless tattoo that is a Megan Massacre trademark.
Common in her works are Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) themed tattoo motifs simply because clients can't get enough of her sugar skulls and dead ladies!
Recent from Tattoo Artists
Based out of NYC & originally from Eastern Philadelphia, Megan Massacre (real name: Megan Woznicki) tattooes out of the well-known NYC tattoo studio called "The Wooster Street Social Club" (as featured in TLC channel's NY Ink with Ami James and other equally talented tattoo artists) located in Soho neighborhood of Manhattan.
This was one of the tattoos featured in the show---a personalized design for a woman of her pet. We love her originality and how she does it so confidently, putting together elements that result into one unique & unconventional tattoo.
Megan also does some badass cover-ups! She's also featured in TLC Special's America's Worst Tattoos where she, alongside with Tim Pangburn and other artists converts bad tattoos into new badass ones!
"Besides tattooing, she enjoys painting, modeling, music & fashion design. She has been working as a model since 2007, and has graced plenty of national and international publications, including over 15 magazine covers. Megan works as a DJ and has recently created a new DJ project called “Letz Massacre” with her boyfriend Joe Letz from the band Combichrist."~quoted from her website.
"A passionate supporter of animal rights and a vegetarian, Megan has worked with Peta2 in an ad campaign about being vegetarian and plans to work further with the organization and cause. She loves cooking and experimenting with vegetarian and vegan recipes." ~quoted from her website.
Her style is playful---turning common tattoo motifs into her own distinct touch.
Love the details in every piece. You can see how it's been thoroughly worked on.
Even the letters were neatly done.
We also love how she immortalizes tattoos of loved ones by putting an identification to each one aesthetically. Like in this tattoo. We clearly see what his mother reminds him of. <3
She also does a lot of awesome memorial tattoos of pets! Aww. <3
And cute humanized whimsical animals.
Her style can go from a played down color pallette...
To minimal but vibrant colors...
To solid, colorful and vibrant pieces!!!
She can also do stunning color portraits Massacre style!
Or still life subjects with such KAPOWWW!!!
"Tattoos are special because they make people happy. The idea that i have the ability to give that feeling to someone else is what makes tattooing special for me." Said Megan in an interview on Fox news Magazine.
Megan Massacre believes that tattoo experiences should be positive. She won’t tattoo anyone who has been drinking, she said, because alcohol thins the blood and makes her work and a customer’s healing more difficult.
Megan doesn't just tattoo anything for anyone. She tries to talk young people out of getting exposed tattoos on the hands, neck or face for these are"jobstoppers".
"I am not only putting myself out there, I am hanging my art, my livelihood out there!" explains Megan Massacre to Inked Magazine.
I personally love Megan because she can juggle laborious work, her other hobbies, her modeling stints, being a Peta advocate, appearing on TV, dealing with clients, and being beautiful & fashionable all at the same time!
Clients & friends who entrust their skin to Megan always walk out of the tattoo shop with a smile on their face. :) Boy would I love to have her do my tattoo!!!
