London Tattoo Convention 2014
The London Tattoo Convention is one date to mark in your calendar, either you are a tattoo artist or a tattoo connoisseur. Indeed, it is one of the biggest and most prestigious ink fest of the world, organized by Tattoo Life’s editor in chief Miki Vialetto. For its 10th anniversary, the team behind the event gave us for our money’s worth, with an impressive gathering of tattoo celebrities and some of the most talented artists in the world, inside the gigantic facility of Tobacco Dock. Here the legends are cohabiting with the rising stars.
Jack Rudy, adorable, here posing for me with a lot of humor.
I maybe bring some wisdom here today, he said, but maybe I could also earn some more !
Our very own Ami James is also here, radiant and relaxed, with his team of the Love Hate Social Club, up for an interview for Tattoodo. The cute Megan Massacre shows some love to their fans and it is totally possible to eat next to Darren Brass.
Recent from Stories
Attracting fans like honey attracts bees, the realism star Nikko Hurtado took the time to chat with me.
I really enjoy coming to conventions. It is important for me to meet the people who support me and my work. And indeed, it is always a pleasure to feel you are part of the tattoo community, with friends and talented persons. For the week-end, Nikko is booked with some exciting projects, including a Queen Amidala and realistic skull he describes as « lot of fun » !
For this edition, the realistic style is widely represented, with big names such as Remis, Daniel Martos, Victor Policheri, Boris, Matteo Pasqualin, Alex de Pase, Alexis Vaatete, Sake, Johan Finné, Khan, Mick Squires and Carlos Torres.
The Chicano style is also going big with Jun Cha, Macko, Steve Soto, Chuey Quintanar, Chuco Moreno and Norm, while the fans of Asia were delighted to see the masters Shige, Filip Leu, Sabine Gaffron, Mike Rubendall, Henning Jorgensen, Chris Crooks, Jeff Gogué and Horikitsune, among others.
We can also quote horror buff Paul Booth, the team of the Seven Doors Tattoo Shop including Jondix, French artist Tin-Tin, graphic talent Bugs, old school Davide Andreoli and Miss Ariana, and also dorwork geometricians Dilon Forte and Thomas Hooper.
Some of the artists interviewed by Tattoodo were indeed here : Maud Dardeau, Csaba Müllner, Xoil, Ivana Belakova, Dimitri HK, Clod The Ripper and Nick Chaboya.
The ink lovers were at the rendez-vous, and the crowd was dense and enthusiast. The finest outfits have been brought out to show off the finest tattoos and the photographers’ flashes gave rhythm to the intense week-end. Beautiful souls under beautiful skin art : the ambiance is warm and friendly and all the tattoo lovers vibrate in unison.
Add to that music and sexy shows, with the stunning Fuel Girls and the fascinating Cervena Fox : the program includes good rock, fire-eaters hot like Hell, strippers and sexy acrobats, plus a pin-up competition judged by the leggy Sabina Kelley. A real delight for all eyes, for all ages. Can’t wait for next year ! ;)
