Bob Tyrrell, born november 4'th 1962, he was born in Detroit, Michigan. He has been featured in LA Ink and London Ink and is best known for tattooing Kid Rock's back, and his incredible hyper realism tattoos. In 2012 he participated as a jury member in the first Chaudesaigues Award, an award that recognizes the career and artwork of tattoo artists. Bob Tyrrell also took part in the 2012 World Wide tattoo conference and in the late 2012 he appeared on an episode of Ink Master, as a special guest judge.
Bob Tyrrell, grew up wanting to be an artist inspired by his dad. He started playing guitar in his teens and gave up art completely to pursue a career in music. He then spent the next fifteen years playing in heavy metal bands and working a factory job. He wanted to get tattooed for years and got his first tattoo around 30 years old. This first tattoo and the following onces got him back into drawing and took a few art classes. He then decided to learn how to tattoo! He took some drawings to Tramp, the owner of Eternal Tattoos, who are based in the Detroit area where he grew up. He was offered an apprenticeship, and within three months he had quit his job and was tattooing full time. He was 34 years old when he started, Tom Renshaw was working there and took Bob Tyrrell under his wing. Bob Tyrrell stayed at Eternal for six years and are currently working on the road doing tattoo conventions and guest spots at tattoo shops.
