Don't be scared to take a look at these epic crocodile and alligator tattoos for inspiration: they won't bite, we promise! ;)

At first look, crocodiles and alligators (as well as caimans) are identical animals, but the differences are lying on the details and symbols. Heirs of prehistorical predators such as dinosaurs, these dangerous yet very phlegmatic animals have always been the subject of fear and admiration of humans.

It is indeed in Ancient Egypt that crocodiles have been representated the most, with gods (Sobek, considered as the master of the universe in city called... Crocodilopolis!!!) and monsters (Babai, half crocodile half lion who was eating the bad souls at the Judgement day). The Nile, of course, is still inhabited by these reptiles, fascinating the fans of Egypt. Other ferocious hunters are also located in the South of United States and South America: alligators. They are the symbol of many states and places such as the Mississipi and Amazonia, but also the Louisiana state and Florida state, along with university and sport team.

Strong but also mystic animals, crocodiles and alligators are symbol of power, both physical and mental but also duality. Their elegance and primal beauty is only equal to their scary surprise attacks and cunning eyes. They are perfect designs for badass tattoos indeed, either with humor or just their disturbing majesty. Their serpentine shape can easily fits the shape of the human body. But crocodile and alligator tattoos need to look as ferocious as their source of inspiration, and so are popular in badass styles such as old school, neo traditional and realistic tattoos. But indeed, no one prevents you to be as creative as you wish...
