Age and tattoos is a funny thing, what age should you get one? Are you too old? Too young?
To be honest it doesn't really matter, if you want a tattoo go get one tattoos do not discriminate based on age, just ask 94 year old Gwladys Williams. This awesome woman has a mind blowing 58 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, she's also a tattoo lover! Aged 87 Gwladys got her first tattoo, a yellow daffodil is a memorial to one of her daughters. Her latest tattoos id dedicated to her granddaughter Leri Ann and reads 'Leri & Nain Forever'. Talking about her new ink Gwladys spoke of its importance;
“I decided to have it done because I love her so much and I might not be here for so long.”
Tattoo artist Sascia Angel Marques who gave the awesome Gwladys her tattoo said it was a privilege to tattoo the senior and how she didn't flinch once! Not surprising considering how Gwladys celebrated her 94th birthday by downing a shot after a meal at her local pub!! Marques also noted how after some research she realised Gwladys was the oldest woman to be tattooed in the UK!
Certainly not your typical senior Gwladys is an awesome reminder that tattoos are an art form open to any and everyone, whether you've just turned eighteen or are going on eighty tattoos are always an option. Tattoos don't have an appropriate age, they are universal and timeless art. So take a leaf out of Gwladys book and celebrate getting older by collecting some awesome ink!
