Anything that's great started at some point, and that's what Pixel tattoos can teach us.
It's amazing how a full resolution photograph, humongous billboards, our favorite movies and precious moments caught on cam wouldn't at all be possible without these tiny bits of data called "Pixels".
What is a PIXEL? The word Pixel (also known as Pel), means "Picture element". Every photograph on digital form is made up of pixels. They are the smallest unit of information that when combined together, creates a picture.
Pixels are usually square or round, and are typically arranged in a two-dimensional grid. Tattoo by Scott Falbo.
Each pixel is a sample of an original image. More samples (therefore more pixels) provide the most accurate and clearer representation of that image. In color imaging systems, a color can be represented by 3 component intensities such as RGB (Red, Green & Blue) or 4 components such as CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black).
The pixel is the smallest controllable element of a picture represented on a screen. Tattoo by Lesha Lauz (Russia)

This sample image has a portion of it enlarged... In which the individual pixels are rendered as small squares. How frickin' awesome is that?!

TRIVIA TIDBIT: The word "Pixel" was first used in 1965 to describe picture elements of video images from space probes to the moon & mars.
