Awesome Dad Gets Tattoo To Match Daughters Cochlear Implant!!
Touching tattoo stories are always a favorite so here's another one to get you all warm and fuzzy inside.
And may be show those who pigeon hole tattoos that there is more to a tattoo than just ink!!
Alistair Campbell is the proud father of six-year old Charlotte who has two cochlear implants to aid her hearing and in a heartwarming gesture Alistair got one as well, only his is made with ink! Alistair got the tattoo to show his support of his daughter after she received her second cochlear implant. Charlotte's mother also has a cochlear implant and her brother Lewis requires hearing aides, Charlotte was 4 years-old when she got her first implant!
"The tattoo was a tribute - this was all about her, not me."
"A cochlear implant is an electronic medical device that replaces the function of the damaged inner ear. Unlike hearing aids, which make sounds louder, cochlear implants do the work of damaged parts of the inner ear (cochlea) to provide sound signals to the brain"
Alistair's tattoo took roughly 45 minutes to complete, and although it is in a painful place the father said it was something he could handle. No surprise really, the meaning and power of the tattoo easily outweigh any discomfort the inking would cause! Alistair certainly has a shout for tattoo of the year, but equally father of the year also!! Hats off to this awesome dad and his amazing tattoo!!
The Campbell's belong to and support the Hear 4 Kidz Trust so be sure to check them out!!
