The story of Charles Huurman is surprisingly a from riches to rags story, and, even more surprisingly, a positive story.
A hard working young man, born and raised in Spain, Charly was a successful businessman at only 21. But when he lost everything, he realized that he had chosen the wrong path and that destiny was giving him a good lesson. He enjoyed painting and drawing, but never tought he could make a living with it until friends guided him into the tattoo world. It was an eye-opener for the artist. Starting in the business in Spain, he soon moved to Los Angeles to tattoo at Body Electric Tattoo. Now, Charles Huurman is the owner of a shop in Kilkenny (Ireland), Utopian Tattoo Tribe, and a second one in Valencia (Spain). Inspired by the realistic art of Nikko Hurtado, the visual surrealism of A.D. Pancho and the creative effects of Trash Polka, he creates poetic and eye-catching compositions including realistic portraits and painting effects. A type of tattoos he calls "Abstract Reality". He often attends international tattoo conventions where he won many prizes. If you are enjoying both graphic and realistic ink, then you should take a look at his Facebook page.
