Beautiful Tattoos inspired by Street Artist Cryptik

Cryptik is an amazing street artist widely known for his "cryptic" calligraphic works on the walls of Los Angeles & San Francisco, valued for its eccentricity, richness & sophistication. His famous calligraphic works, which are his very own stylized version of Sanskrit, Hebrew, Arabic & Hindi, with a twist of graffiti/cholo writing, has attracted much attention in the streets and even as a good tattoo subject on skin! Let's check out the works of Cryptik and see the fans who got his art tattooed. ;-)

" In the Ancient times, words held magical powers and were considered Sacred because it was the written word of “God.” I think subconsciously, that’s what I’m trying to tap into. It’s always been a vibration thing for me, if that makes any sense. I don’t really know where it comes from; I’m just trying to channel it the best I can. Maybe it’s in my DNA. Typically, I like to write out Buddhist/Hindu Mantras, quotes, or poems depending on the piece." Cryptik said in an interview for Hi-Fructose Magazine.

And so Cryptik writes, paints & creates on paper, canvas and walls. Check out his cool hand tattoo!

When asked what he would want to achieve as an artist, he replies: "Man…honestly, I just want to try to do something good for humanity during the short time I’m on this planet. I think life is too short to just sit around. I don’t ever want to say, “I wish I could’ve done something with my life.” I just want to do my part to help balance out all the evil and ignorance that exists in the world the best way I know how, which is through art. In the end, I’m just happy doing what I do,and just as importantly, trying to enjoy the ride." (source: Hi-Fructose)

Cryptik doesn't just make meaningless calligraphy, his works are his own interpretation of "God's word". Sometimes, he does mantradalas: a mandala that contains an incantation or prayer.

"The Cryptik Movement is a public art campaign dedicated to helping humanity evolve towards greater awareness and understanding through the use of compelling, iconic imagery that demands both scrutiny and reverie. The purpose of this organization is to facilitate the development of a deeper, more meaningful philosophy of life."

"The main objective is to challenge people to think of other possibilities and to see a different reality; one that encompasses many ideologies, philosophies, and belief systems in order to help us better understand our place in the universe. The organization is entirely free of any religious or political agendas and, therefore, serves only to provoke wonder and inspire thought. The goal of this organization is to serve as a catalyst for a change in consciousness on a global scale. At this very critical juncture in human history, either we evolve or perish. Join the Movement! The "Great Awakening" is upon us." (source:
