Imran Khan is one of India's biggest and most popular celebrities.
The stylish actor has appeared in a number of highly successful Hindi language-films, written columns for The Hindustan Times and has been a present voice in Indian social activism on subjects such as poverty, violence against women, political awareness and education. But when not in the public eye Khan leads a very humble life, not one for media attention Khan stays away from the spotlight and focuses on his family. His appreciation for privacy also affects his tattoos!
Khan currently has three tattoos, a small design on the nape of his neck, his daughters name on his chest and a Samurai on his right arm which he got for the birth of his daughter Imara. When asked about his tattoos and his tendency to cover them up Khan explained that he likes to keep them hidden and not flaunt them for one simple reason; “Because the tattoos are for me"
While shooting movies Khan is known to cover his tattoos with either clothes or makeup. The personal nature of Khan's tattoos obviously mean more to him than there aesthetic value to others, though some say his tattoos give him an edge over his contemporaries and fellow actors.
Whether Khan chooses to show them or not it's awesome to see tattoos finding a stronger place in Indian film.
