The Daily Texan's Tat-Tuesday
The Daily Texan is the student newspaper of the University of Texas at Austin.
Entirely student run the paper serves a readership of roughly 30,000 and is one of America's largest student newspapers. The Texan has 10 Pulitzer Prize winners in its former staff and has won more awards than any other paper of its kind...oh and did we mention they do a weekly tattoo feature!!
As described by The Texan 'Tat-Tuesday is a weekly series that features students around campus and their tattoos'. Each week the paper dives into the world of tattoos and discovers the stories about some of the students ink, what there tattoos mean to them and why they got them etc.
'Tat-Tuesday: Students share stories behind ink' This weeks Tat-Tuesday featured a story of a tattoo gone wrong that had to be altered/covered and another student whose ink was to help make them look tough as well as express there artistic side. Every Tat-Tuesday makes for some interesting reading so you should be sure to check them out!
Around 36% of 18-25 year old Americans have at least one tattoo so it's awesome to see a student paper like The Texan taking advantage of the popularity of ink and sharing the stories of some good and meaningful tattoos. Remember to head over to The Texan each Tuesday and get your fix of student body art!!
