VisitRichmond recently used free tattoos for tweets to gain exposure for the city on social media!

Richmond, Virginia, recently played host to the 2015 UCI Road World Championships and tourism board VisitRichmond took advantage of the crowds and used tattoos to gain some wider exposure. The organizers of the event set up a FanFest which drew in athletes, visitors and local businesses to meet before and after races, VisitRichmond had its own area in the fan zone to promote the city and seeing an opportunity to really leave a mark the tourism board teamed up with local tattoo studio Absolute Art Tattoo to turn their zone into a makeshift tattoo shop!!

Absolute Art Tattoo has been tattooing in Richmond since 1993 and was more than happy to work with VisitRichmond in promoting the city. The shop drew up an awesome flash sheet filled with Richmond inspired tattoos, available as both real and temporary tattoos the designs were free!! The free tattoos were given for free in return for a Tweet sharing the image with #VisitRichmond.

VisitRichmond's free tattoos for Tweets certainly left a lasting impression and a permanent one on 62 lucky people! It also showed how the wider acceptance of tattoos means more tattoo related events can be used to bring in the crowds. Tattoos are an engaging art form and VisitRichmond used it perfectly to show how some inspired ink can use the power of social media to spread a particular message!
