Having trouble keeping your little ones' temperature in check this fever season? You'd want to check out this stick-on thermometer tattoo.
This new, tattoo-inspired thermometer just might be the answer to your prayers. No more rectal thermometer probing, and no more unreliable temperature checks with skin thermometer swipes. Plus, your kid gets to play with tattoos in the meantime!
The Fever Scout is a reusable sticker to be applied to the child's torso. The sticker thermometer comes with a phone app that connects through Bluetooth. They're programmed to be linked together so you will be notified of any changes in temperature it may record.
Fever Scout uses stick-on circuit technology from Vivalnk and was especially designed to look kid-friendly so it may not defeat the purpose of making the task easier for both parents and kids. Even us adults are loving the purple-turquoise design. (Why do we want this ourselves...)
The design went through many developments of prototypes, mainly due to the arrangement of the tattoo style sticker thermometer internal parts. They first thought of molding the first Fever Scout prototype into a simple circular stick-on thermometer but the antenna and the battery unit have to be separated to prevent signal interference. They went through several other designs and finally settled on the lightning-shaped one. It turned out to be a perfect fit as the design wraps around snugly on a child's side when they tested it.
