Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has a new tattoo and it's certainly a unique piece...it's of himself!!
20 year old Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is a rising star of the Brooklyn Nets and is no stranger to tattoos. Both his arms have a fair amount of ink, but it is his latest tattoo that's getting all the attention. After almost a year of having the tattoo done Hollis-Jefferson finally opened up and shared his back tattoo. A portrait of himself!!
While it may seem a little egotistical and a bold assurance of self-confidence Hollis-Jefferson's tattoo is actually part of what is going to be a full back tattoo. The image inked on his back is of Hollis-Jefferson when he was playing for the University of Arizona is a way of commemorating and remembering an important part of his life.
“I was getting a story [tattooed] on my back about where I started, where I am coming from...Just the stepping-stones. And this was the biggest picture of the portrait I was getting. So I was like, ‘Let me get that out of the way.’ And I tell people I will get it finished in the future, the whole thing. But now I tell them, ‘Nah, that’s just me watching my back’.”
A tribute to his life and the journey he has taken so far Hollis-Jefferson has recently added to the piece by having the name of his hometown, Chester, tattooed between his shoulders. Even with a bold portrait of himself Hollis-Jefferson is actually working on his in game confidence, surely his tattoo will go some way into giving him a boost. If not at least he has some memorable ink!!
