Steven Huie's talent transcends all styles and themes: color, black and gray, traditional, neo-traditional, Asian influence, hyper-realism; all complimented by his creative imagination. Steven grew up with all the guys in the hardcore NYC music scene. His first art job was for Sick Of It All. He drew The Pain Strikes T-shirt in 1992. Also drawing art for other bands including Murphy's Law, The Cro-Mags, Crown Of Thornz, and DMIZE. In 1994, Steven collaborated with Freddy Cricien and Vinnie Stigma on the logo for their new album that they were recording, Set It Off.
"I remember being in Vinnie Stigma's apartment with Freddy brainstorming ideas of what the Madball should look like. We all looked at the toys from Madballs. I drew one or two versions and saw what they liked about it. I needed to change the eyebrows. The version that was final became used for the CD and tapes that went on the Set It Off album." -Steven Huie
A consummate professional, with the utmost respect for the art of tattoo, Steven Huie was accomplished in the arts well before he started tattooing in 1994. The versatility of his talent and magnitude of his artwork, whether it be tattoo, pencil, inks or paints is a library of creative and original work.
Steven Huie is not only a radically talented tattoo artist who loves and enjoys his work, he's a great human being who I am proud to know . . . And to know Steven, is to love his dog, Chicken Huie.
