From the skinny Metro Station lead guitarist to a high-riding entrepreneur/musician, Trace Cyrus is just as living wild as his sister Miley.
You might recognize him from the late 2000s electropop-rock music scene, being in the band Metro Station, or you may simply recognize him as notorious singer, Miley Cyrus' brother. Either way, we can all agree that he's come a long way since.
He's heavily tattooed more than ever, but that's not the only thing that has changed since then.
Many will argue that he owes most of his success to his family name—being the son of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and half-brother to child star-turned-wild child Miley Cyrus. Although that may be true, Trace seems to be making the most out of it by pursuing other things and establishing his own brand.
Referring to his sister Miley, he wrote in an Instagram post: “Big thanks to my awesome little sis for letting my band, Metro Station open for her tonight in LA! Who thinks Metro Station and Miley should do another tour together like we did back in 2009? Tonight was funny 'cause when I opened for her in '09, people looked at me like I was crazy on that tour. I was told if I took my shirt off or used any profanity I would be kicked off the tour. Now years later, there are topless girls and people smoking weed in the audience at her shows. I think I fit in playing shows with Miley much more now that she grew up!”
I'd say Metro Station's glory years were back in the late 2000s when people were dancing off to “Shake It,” feeling like they're “Seventeen Forever.” Trace left the band for four years and came back to reconcile whatever dispute he left with the band.
They've since then released two more records with Trace, with him releasing some stuff from his own side project titled, “Ashland High.”
Miley Cyrus isn't the only Disney Star close to Trace's heart. The musician first dated Disney actress, Brenda Song in 2010 and got engaged in October 2011. But in June 2012, the couple called it quits.
But in January 2013, Trace gave his fans a New Years' treat by posting a rather sweet photo of him and Song sharing a New Year's kiss. They've been happy together since.
As of now, in between his personal life and music career Trace has been busy with his clothing brand, Southern Made Hollywood Paid and expanding the venture.
Oh, and hey, he's been looking good!
