This week's fine artist is an unbelievably talented painter by the name of Chris Guest- who almost exclusively paints tattooed subjects.
Chris Guest, hailing originally from Bristol but currently residing in London, England began drawing and painting as a child. The now tattooed artist, at the ripe old age of 14, started drawing and selling portraits of famous musicians to his fellow classmates. By 18, he was showing his work in galleries throughout the UK and has continued to gain notoriety over the years, consistently showing his work in renowned galleries and collections alike.
If you haven't noticed already, Guest almost always paints heavily tattooed subjects. He says of his work:
“For the last few years, my work has focused on painting heavily tattooed people, mainly from the London rock scene, to create paintings with a dirty rock n roll feel. I use very traditional techniques perhaps more akin to 18th century paintings, and source beautifully elaborate and highly decorative frames from English stately homes that are sometimes hundreds of years old. Using this traditional style of painting and method of display, coupled with such a contemporary subject matter of young characters from the London rock scene, I find this creates an interesting contradiction in my work."

In addition to his gorgeous paintings, he also does beautiful stripped-down drawings. Take a look at some of my favorites..
