Eilidh Haggart is leaving both the design and placement of her next tattoo up to a public vote...all in the name of a good cause.
When Storm Frank lashed the UK with floods and extreme gale force winds it left a path of devastation and flattened buildings. New Arc an animal sanctuary near Aberdeen in Scotland was hit badly and after the storm ended up with a £10,000 bill for repairs one local woman decided to help raise some funds for the shelter with her own fundraising campaign. She's asking locals to design her next tattoo and decide where she should get it in exchange of a donation of £7 or more to New Arc.
Eilidh Haggart 24 who volunteers at the sanctuary has already got a lot of her body tattooed but she is willing to get an extremely painful part tattooed like the sole of her foot or armpit with whatever design the public decides in order to raise money for the sanctuary. She said “There have been a lot of animal-themed designs, some quotes, drawings people have done, music-themed designs, an Aberdeen FC chant, it’s really such a mixed bag.”
Her original goal was to raise £700 but smashed that in a week. She has almost reached her next target and is only a few pounds shy of the goal. Sponsored tattoos are a great way to raise money for charities but let's hope the public pick out something good for Miss Haggart.
