While many artists would suggest NOT getting your significant other's name tattooed, tattooer Scott Campbell feels differently.
You may remember hearing Scott Campbell's name before. He has not only gained notoriety through his gorgeous work, as well as tattooing several big name celebrities (Marc Jacobs, Robert Downey Jr. & Courtney Love, to name a few) but also for an experiment he headed last year that gained tons of attention.
Campbell invited the public to come get tattooed by him, for free- but there was a catch. You had to sit on the opposite side of a makeshift wall from him, stick your arm in a hole and have zero say in what art you received. Complete anonymity and trust in the artist. People lined up for blocks and waited countless hours to be a part of Campbell's experiment, and the project was a huge success.
Well, Campbell is at it again. Only this time, there's an even riskier spin on the experiment.
This time around, presented by M.A.C. & shot by filmmaker Steven Sebring, Campbell is giving free tattoos to couples who are willing to get their lovers' name tattooed on their body..
"I support and endorse potentially regrettable acts with passionate motives," Campbell says. "Getting a lover's name tattooed on you is...courageous because it's a lot more hazardous and that's what I think makes it magical... I want to support people who are fearlessly falling in love."
Swoon. What a romantic, amirite? Who else kinda has a crush on him now?
Check out the beautifully produced, and genuinely touching video below to hear Campbell talk about the project, his own personal experiences, and get the stories behind the couples willing to take the dive. But first- look at this hot picture of Campbell and his wife. Goddamn.
