It seems that ravers in India are finding a new way to hide (or use?) acid tabs in plain sight. They are putting the LSD tabs on their bodies as temporary stick-on tattoos.
Temporary tattoos come in many different designs and there are versions for children and adults alike, however this isn't the first time there has been a temporary stick-on acid tattoo scandal.
In the 1970s and 80s the infamous Blue Star Hoax took place. Parents in the US went on a rampage searching for temporary tattoos of blue stars, supposedly containing LSD and distributed to children. There were never any perpetrators caught however, mostly because the acid tattoos didn't exist; the confusion came from the similarity in appearance between temporary tattoos and LSD tabs.
Anyways, back to India, where Chennai police seem to be running into a similar problem. The issue is that, and if you've gone to any festivals you'll know, EVERYONE is covered in shit. Whether it's stick on tattoos, bodypaint, beads, paraphanalia, fur, tutus, glowsticks, foam, or lycra full bodysuits.. it's a madhouse!
The popularity of the drug has skyrocketed in the party scene over there over the last 6 months and police think the tabs are being moved by party organizers in Mumbai, Goa, and Delhi. Well Chennai police, I think it's time to pull a page outta the 21 Jump Street playbook:
While the worries about kids tripping in public are legit, in the case of temporary stick-on acid tattoos maybe it's a little exaggerated, considering that LSD isn’t absorbed through the skin. #oops
Well that it's for today's trippy news. Peace out! ✌️
