Adam Vu Is Living His Dream Of Tattooing on All 7 Continents
Orange County tattoo artist Adam Vu is on a journey around the world to fulfill his dream of tattooing on every continent across the globe
Adam Vu left his successful tattoo shop in Dana Point, Orange County behind in January this year to embark on a personal voyage of becoming the second person in history to have tattooed on all 7 continents. The first one to have done it was Lyle Tuttle at the age of 82. This journey, which he believes will take a year, will make him the youngest person to have done this challenge. For Lyle Tuttle, it took quite a bit more time than that. But Adam really has his sights set on his goal, and to do the whole challenge in one go without a break.
Perhaps it's his wanderlust that can give him the strength to complete his goal as this isn't his first global trip. In 2014, he backpacked through Southeast Asia for around 6 months learning a lot on his journey about his artwork and developing his skills of painting and tattooing.
Adam Vu's tattoo style loved by his loyal clients is an intricate "prison-style" blackwork style that is clean and really stands out above a lot of other artists. The tattoos themselves are unique and with a touch of darkness, but even Adam knows that being the best tattoo artist is a life goal that doesn't exist, because there are just too many amazing artists with different styles. However, he hopes that achieving his goal of tattooing on every continent, will give him a lasting recognition in tattooing history because he believes it is something that leaves more of a lasting substance.
Until May he will be in Japan before moving on to Italy and you can follow his journey on his Instagram page. Check out some of his awesome pieces right here.
