Devastating Fire Destroys Vintage Collection Of Tattoo Memorabilia
Mike and Mary Skiver lost their tattoo shop, museum and home to a fire and now the tattoo community is pulling together to help rebuild
Mike and Mary Skiver from Somerset, PA have been in the tattoo business for over 30 years. As well as a successful tattoo and piercing shop they also held an impressive collection of tattoo memorabilia including hand poke tools, machines and original vintage tattoo flash. Last month an accidental blaze destroyed their tattoo shop and home and the collection went up in flames too.
When the tattoo community heard about the tragedy, people across the world began banding together to give support and help raise money for the Skivers to rebuild their home, and start getting back what they once had.

His collection was one of a kind and an important part of the preservation of tattoo history. Mike is a well-respected man in the tattoo community and his loss was felt by all who know him and admire his collection.

Most of his collection had been destroyed but among the rubble found bit and pieces that he was able to rescue. Even though Mike and Mary have been hit hard by the accident, they swear that they will rebuild again and with all the support coming in from the tattoo community, they might even end up with some incredible rare treasures in their next collection.
A charity funding page has been set up to help raise money for the couple to help rebuild the museum again and start a new collection of tattoo memorabilia.
