Stasia Burrington, born Stasia Kato, is a Seattle-based artist whose floral-laden multi-media works caught my eye. Her beautiful, washy paintings with bold lines forming delicate female figures atop them are stunning enough as it is- her finishing touches are what really get me.
Burrington finishes off these paintings by applying vibrant flowers on top of her gorgeous gals, hand-cut from quilting textiles. These flowers, whether they are meant to or not, can't help but give the impression of heavy tattooing. And well, we dig it.
