90s babies will recognize all that yellow from anywhere in a heartbeat. After school shows won't be complete without the optimistic, square, bright yellow sponge who somehow lives in a pineapple under the sea with a pet snail. Don't forget his best friend, the pink starfish who may biologically not have a brain but still has a big heart and his favorite co-worker, the squid who we can all pretty much relate to. SpongeBob SquarePants started as a low-budget project on Nickelodeon which boomed into a massive, hit show that soon became ground breaking for the TV network.
It's been seventeen years since then and some of the kids who grew up watching the show now probably has kids watching it which is really heartwarming. In the meantime, there are people who went straight to the tattoo shop once they were old enough to get SpongeBob tattoo!
Fun fact: Did you know that fashion designer Marc Jacobs has a SpongeBob tattoo? Not something you'd expect from one of the top fashion designers in the industry!
