Rock Band "The Kills" Pays for Fan Tattoos
When music meets tattoos, fans rejoice (especially when they're free).
To celebrate the release of their latest album, rock band The Kills created a special art project called "Under the Gun".
Tattooed musicians Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince (husband of tattooed supermodel Kate Moss) decided to make a contest offering tattoos to their fans. "Ash & Ice", the new album by The Kills, is decorated with 15 symbols which represent the songs. Fifteen winners were picked and had the chance to get the symbols tattooed at Mark Mahoney's Shamrock Social Club in LA. The lucky fans spent some quality time with their idols in the iconic tattoo studio, each getting a symbol inked by tattoo artist legends.
The art project was also filmed and photographed. If you're a fan of the band but weren't lucky enough to win a tattoo, you can still show your The-Kills-inspired ink on Instagram by tagging it with #thekillsunderthegun...and in our app of course!
