Just Jen is an amazing traditional tattoo artist working out of Den of Iniquity Tattoo Parlour in Edinburgh, Scotland. I caught up with her to talk to her about what she loves about her work and what she looks to for inspiration.
"I like playing with everyday objects, like lamps or scissors, and making them into something else- which are usually naked women."
Jen's traditional tattoos are bold and have very defined lines that make them stand out on the skin. Her color tattoos are gorgeous and classy, while her blackwork is just as refined. Jen told me that what she loves most about her job is that it doesn't really feel like work at all, mostly because of the amazing relationship she builds with her clients. "You can build up quite a close relationship with some of your customers and I've gained a few really good friends through having tattooed them," she told me.
Jen, who was named Things and Ink's favorite Instagram artists of the moment last March, loves tattooing images that are based on the natural world, such as flowers and scenery. However, she told me, "I also like playing with everyday objects, like lamps or scissors, and making them into something else- which are usually naked women." Check out her awesome topless lady lamp below!
What's next for Jen? She's really into animals right now, and is looking forward to doing some larger scale pieces: "I'm in the process of designing some larger animal/nature inspired pieces for the back and stomach so I'm excited to do them when the time comes," she told me. I can't wait to see those!

If you're lucky, you can catch Jen at the Scottish Tattoo Convention in March, and perhaps in Amsterdam again in the new year, as well as some potential guest spots around Europe. Thanks to Jen for the lovely interview and the wonderful photos of her tattoos from her Instagram!
