The Two Most Tattooed Seniors Prove You're Never Too Old for Tattoos
Charlotte Guttenberg and Chuck Helmke were named the world's most tattooed senior citizens by the Guinness Book of World Records.
There are people who love tattoos. They study the art form, they learn the history, and they get their favorites inked on their bodies. Then, there are people who really love tattoos.
Charlotte Guttenberg and Chuck Helmke fall into the latter camp. How do I know this? Because they've just been named the most tattooed senior citizens in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. They don't just embrace the art form, they are the art form.
Guttenberg has roughly 91.5% of her body covered in body art, while Helmke is 93.5% covered.
Strangely enough, this obsession has happened fairly recently, Guttenberg got her first tattoo only 10 years ago! Her husband was strict and didn't want her to get any tattoos, despite her desire for one. When he passed away, she jumped into the scene, never looking back.
Helmke was in the parlor with her when she got her first ink, giving her support. He noticed she was nervous, so he went over and began talking with her to ease the pain. After this chance meeting the two love-birds began dating, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Helmke also got into the tattoo game fairly recently. He has built the bulk of his collection, aside from an army tattoo, within the last 16 years.
They're both open to getting more tattoos, but with increasingly limited capacity on their bodies, space is running out. Helmke only has his face and toes untouched, while Guttenberg has her face, a portion of her chest, and torso remaining.
Hopefully the couple can keep that spark alive and get as close to 100% as possible!
