10 Symbolic Horus and Ra Tattoos

Ancient Egypt never fails as a tattoo inspiration!

Horus and Ra make for a powerful deity themed tattoo.

The gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt are some of the most interesting deities in the world, their symbolism and myths never disappoint and they also inspire cool tattoos. The god of the sky, war and hunting Horus is regarded as one of the most significant Egyptian deities and is perhaps one of the most iconic one. Often depicted as a falcon, or human with a falcon head, Horus was later merged with the sun god Ra as Ra-Horakthy ("Ra, who is Horus of the Two Horizons").

In this form Horus was believed to rule parts of the sky, earth and underworld. Clearly an image of much symbolism and meaning, Horus has become a popular tattoo theme and can be tattooed as either the classic Horus or the Ra-Horakthy, either way you'll end up with a kickass Egyptian tattoo.
