Reliving our youth yet again with tattoos -- Sega Dreamcast tattoos

Video games nerds just love to debate shit. Xbox or Playstation? Mario or Luigi? Sonic or Knuckles? One of the most heated debates in all of this specific kingdom of nerdery is in regards to which video game console was the best of all time. Well, given our incredible reach and influence, we here at Tattoodo decided to put the matter to rest once and for all by weighing in with a definitive answer and some cool Sega Dreamcast tattoos.

That’s right, the best video game console to ever exist was the Sega Dreamcast. Released on the unforgettable date of 9/9/99, the Dreamcast was the last system to come out of the ‘90s. The ‘90s were a great decade for gaming that saw the birth of the Super Nintendo, Sony Playstation, and Nintendo 64. All of these were titans in their own right and boasted a library of classic titles. But the Dreamcast beats them all.

The Dreamcast hosted a slew of incredible titles that provided endless hours of fun in our youths. We could list off quality Dreamcast titles all day: Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Power Stone, Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis, Seaman… Seriously, we could go on and on.

The system also featured the best-looking ports of some of the hottest games at the time such as Unreal Tournament, Soul Calibre, and the Resident Evil and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. The Dreamcast also boasted the smoothest online play that had ever been seen in a console, with each unit coming complete with its own modem.

I personally spent hundreds of hours with my Dreamcast, exploring the rich 3-D worlds of Sonic Adventure at speeds unimaginable in the character’s 16-bit iterations. I couldn’t even begin to count the nights I stayed up until dawn skating around and nailing sick kick flips in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. And of course there were the hour-long tirades of swear words caused by getting my ass handed to me at Unreal Tournament over a 56k modem.

The Dreamcast had a bittersweet, short life, being manufactured for about 18 months. It was crushed by the release of the Playstation 2 in 2000. Though it never caught on in the way Playstations and Xboxes did, it is nevertheless the best video game console of all time based solely on the metric of “because we say so.” To illustrate our point, check out these awesome Sega Dreamcast tattoos we have collected for you.

We bet these sick Dreamcast tattoos make you regret selling yours at your parent’s garage sale. Luckily, the console can be found on the cheap on eBay and Craigslist alike. So, if you want to revisit video game history without spending a small fortune, once again the Dreamcast proves itself to be the best system ever.
