A symbol of desire and passion, roses aren't the only romantic flower worthy of beautiful tattoos.

Native to eastern and southern Asia, camellia flowers range from 1 to 12 centimeters in diameter. Despite having no connection to the camellia, the flower was named after the botanist Georg Joseph Kamel. 

Apart from their natural beauty, camellias hold significance in the U.S. Sacramento is nicknamed the Camellia City, the camellia is also the state flower of Alabama, and are a complex symbol in the book To Kill A Mockingbird.
