Whimsical Watercolor Floral Tattoos by Sasha Marsh

Remember when your parents said to never paint on yourself? Forget that nonsense.

When you’re a kid, it always seems like there are so many rules about what you can’t and cannot do. Don’t eat candy before your meal, don’t stay up past your bedtime, don’t paint on yourself. It’s odd, because when you finally cross over from child to adult, all the rules seemingly flip overnight. There’s no one to tell you that you can’t stay up past your bedtime or paint on yourself, or eat ALL THE CANDY. When watercolor tattoos first became widely popularized a few years back, it was all the more exciting. Finally, a way to permanently paint on yourself, and no one to tell you no.

Tattooing since 2014, a surprisingly short amount of time given her mastery of her craft, artist Sasha Marsh is a watercolor artist turned tattooer. With brush like strokes, she creates soft, watercolor animals and flowers in pastel hues that are both feminine and delicate. In fact, her ability to mimic a paint brush with a tattoo machine is so accurate, you can even see the uneven lines from where the “brush’s bristles” lift from the skin to create a true painted effect. Both whimsical and airy, her pieces have a certain mystique to them that’s both dreamy and calming. So while eating all the candy and staying up past your bedtime might not be the best idea from your childhood, having Marsh create a watercolor masterpiece on you definitely is.
