You generally think of only animals and flowers having a place in mythology, but herbs like rosemary also have some interesting stories attached to them. There was rosemary draped around the Greek Goddess, Aphrodite, when she rose from the sea. This also relates to how the herb came to be known as rosemary with the name derived from Latin words which translate to "dew of the sea."
In the present day, rosemary actually plays a role in many celebration occasions and culinary recipes. The herb is often found in stuffing and used for flavoring meat for Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts.
