The Refined Blackwork Pointillism of Arthur Perfetto

Arthur Perfetto practices the phenomenal art of seamlessly blending dotwork and blackwork.

The blackwork we know is very different from what it used to be. In fact, the term blackwork isn't an exclusive jargon of the tattoo community. A quick Google search will bring you to the art of embroidery. It was first used to describe Spanish blackwork or the use of mainly black thread in some sort of intricate embroidery that involves different techniques in sewing. What does that have to do with blackwork tattoo artist Arthur Perfetto? You'll see.

Arthur Perfetto left the comforts of São Paulo for the bustling city of Berlin that's as rich in art and culture as the city he left behind. He now works at AKA studio with fellow blackworker Buio Letizi. If there's anything Arthur's blackwork tattoos and Spanish blackwork have in common, it's the way they're both meticulously crafted and designed. It's as if Arthur sews his way into fine details and linework. While some blackwork tends to lean towards dark themes, his style goes both ways by looking elegant with a hint of murkiness.
