Comedian Jen Kirkman Tells Stephen Colbert the Origin of Her Ankle Ink

During a trip to "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," Kirkman talks about her tattoo and gets a redesign from the funnyman.

Comedian Jen Kirkman has a new special out on Netflix, which is titled, "Just Keep Livin'?" To promote that stand-up comedy special, Kirkman has been making all of the media rounds, and even landed a spot on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in order to promote the special.

During the interview, Kirkman explains the title of her special, her link with Matthew McConaughey, and her ankle tattoo that brings it all together. Colbert is even kind enough to give her tattoo a free redesign for her appearance on the show.

Kirkman is the best-selling author of the book, I Can Barely Take Care of Myself: Tales From a Happy Life Without Kids and has produced three other comedy albums, Self Help, Hail to the Freaks, and I'm Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine). Her second book,I Know What I'm Doing — and Other Lies I Tell Myself: Dispatches from a Life Under Construction, was released in April 2016.

As you can tell, Kirkman is an incredibly busy woman, constantly touring and performing stand-up comedy, while writing two books in three years. It's quite an impressive feat to be able to manage all of those responsibilities at once, but somehow she pulls it off.
