Back in 2009, America was just dying for another single-camera mocumentary sitcom. NBC answered the nation's prayers when it premiered Parks and Recreation. America fell in love with the ensemble cast and the rest is history. While it’s been gone for a couple years now (replaced by God knows what unfunny drivel) the Parks and Rec love has stayed strong. Today we’ve got some amazing Parks and Recreation tattoos in tribute to the wonderful mockumentary series.
The show, as we really hope you are all aware, follows the exploits of the parks and recreation department of Pawnee, Indiana. Starring Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope (a role which cemented her status as one of the funniest women to ever exist), the show ran for seven laugh-filled seasons. It also launched Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, and Rashida Jones, into certifiable stardom. An impressive feat for a single show.
One thing we really need to acknowledge about Parks and Rec is that the series had the grace to go out at the top of its game. Too many things in this world overstay their welcome, and thankfully the creators of the show decided to bow out before things got stale. Just kidding. Parks and Rec was somehow never a ratings hit, and only survived for a seventh season in order to reach the 100 episode mark needed for future syndication. Thankfully, the series had one of the most satisfying finales in television history.
So join us now as we take a look at some totally badass pieces inspired by the show. All these Parks and Rec tattoos are touching tributes to one of the the best shows to ever exist on TV.
Don’t these Parks and Rec tattoos just make you miss Lil Sebastian with all your heart? You are not alone and the show is currently streaming on Netflix if you suddenly find the need to take a trip back to Pawnee.
