Netflix has finally announced the premiere date for Bojack Horseman season four. Sadly, unlike previous seasons, we won’t be getting our Bojack fix in July. No, this year we must wait until September 8th. While we slowly whittle away the months, why not kill a few of those unbearable moments with some really sick Bojack Horseman tattoos?
Bojack Horseman is nothing short of one of the best contemporary television series. It follows the depressive mishaps of a washed-up actor – who happens to be an anthropomorphic horse. Bojack exists in a magical world where humans and talking animals co-exist and nothing is ever mentioned of it. This sets up a litany of amazing throw-away animal-based puns that amounts to nothing short of genius.
The show is voiced by an all-star cast consisting of Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Paul F. Tompkins, Alison Brie, and Aaron Paul. But in our eyes, the real star of Bojack Horseman is Lisa Hanawalt, the show’s designer. Hanawalt has created an impressive, visually striking animated world that is unlike any that we’ve seen. The sheer brilliance of it was put on display front and center in last season’s fourth episode, “Fish Out of Water,” a dialogue-free romp under the sea that was ranked number one on Time Magazine’s “Top 10 TV Episodes of 2016.”
We have incredibly high hopes for season four, as Bojack Horseman is one of those rare TV series that has been getting better every season. You don’t have to take our word for that, Rotten Tomatoes’ scores for the series list each season higher than the previous one. If this trend continues, season four could be one of the best things to ever exist.
The true brilliance of Bojack Horseman lies in the way the show manages to entertain while being soul-crushingly depressing. Bojack is a bummer and a half, to be sure, and each season just seems to get steadily more depressing. Luckily, there’s more than a spoonful of sugar to help that particular medicine go down.
So while we eagerly await season four’s September 8th premiere date, let’s take a look at some Bojack Horseman tattoos that will only serve to make us want more Bojack sooner.
Don’t these Bojack Horseman tattoos make you wish you could go into a medically-induced coma until the season premiere on September 8th? That’s a bit drastic, but try holding your breath until you pass out. When you come to, you’ll be that much closer to more Bojack Horseman.
