King of Cubism: Picasso Tattoos

With this foray into fine art we bring you a collection of Picasso tattoos that will make you yearn for cubist creations.

He may have been a big personality, a womanizer, and a total egomaniac, but...honestly all of that is hearsay. And on top of that, to this day his artwork continues to garner admiration and influence artists all over the globe! These Picasso tattoos just prove that. Whether replications of his incredible paintings, to portraits done in the style of, these pieces show that fine art doesn't just have to hang on gallery walls. It can find a home right on your skin as well!

Born in 1881 and dying at the ripe ol' age of 91, Picasso's career and portfolio span so many different movements and aesthetics that people will often quote a particular "period" of his that they like best. Our would be the "blue period"...you know, all those paintings of sad people moping around playing guitar painted in varied hues of ultramarine and turquoise. They are literally and figuratively blue. We notice that Guernica is a popular theme in Picasso tattoos as well, as are pretty hawt ladies with their parts all drawn willy nilly. Perhaps that is what we love so about this great artist: his refusal to stick to this reality, and instead he bent it to fit his will. Crazy faced babes included.

So, if you aren't a fan of his work (then you probs haven't seen enough of it)...you should at least be a fan of his pure devotion and motivation to get shiz done. Wikipedia states, "The total number of artworks he produced has been estimated at 50,000, comprising 1,885 paintings; 1,228 sculptures; 2,880 ceramics, roughly 12,000 drawings, many thousands of prints, and numerous tapestries and rugs." Thats. Just. Crazy. We know Wiki isn't always exactly on point, but even with a lil give n take, those numbers are insane. But still...we'll take one Picasso tattoo over 1,8885 paintings.
