25 Meaningful Rabbit Tattoos

There is much more than cuteness in rabbit tattoos. Rabbits have always been a strong symbol of connection with the magic world.
A god in many ancient cultures, the rabbit kept playing tricks on the hunters and heroes, thus considered as a trickster in African and Native American mythologies, known sometimes under the name of Nanabozho. In China, this Zodiac symbol is a protector, giving a long life and happiness. A joyful animal that appears with the return of Spring, the rabbit is also associated with fertility and Easter, for Christian symbolism but mostly just chocolate bunnies! We can also quote the mythical Jackalope.
Whether you think that there is a rabbit in the moon or that it is a spiritual totem, you can get rabbit tattoos to illustrate how you have leapt over obstacles in your life or because you like to have a symbol of intelligence on your body. Rabbits are also associated with sex and lust, so it's not surprising that Playboy chose a rabbit as its symbol and launched the Playboy Bunny girls. But this cute furry animal is also more innocent in childhood literature or in popular culture. This includes of course the white rabbit of Alice in Wonderland, Walt Disney's Thumper, Bugs Bunny, cheeky Roger Rabbit, or scary like Franck in Donnie Darko. You can find many different styles of rabbits in fiction, including comics, marketing and video games.
The magicians were famous for their rabbit-in-a-hat trick, kids were doing its long ears in shadow plays and mathematicians gave the Fibonacci number to artists while searching a way to describe the rabbit's reproduction... We told you, the rabbit is one hell of a magic tattoo! So have you already let in magic into your life with an adorable, witty or perhaps mysterious rabbit tattoo? If you are not sure yet, take a look at this meaningful and beautiful selection of rabbit tattoos!
