Fresh as fuck is nice in these bleak times, and fresh as fuck is what Andrey Lukovnikov's work is. Lukovnikov has a painterly, colorful style, reminiscent of oil painting, and specializes in fitting these elaborate, detailed pieces of art inside of other forms. He has flowers pouring out of bird shapes, birds peeking out of deer heads, bugs filled with flora. These silhouette tattoos are a sight to behold.
Breathtaking is an adjective that gets tossed around a little too easily nowadays ("Wow, that Insta pic was breathtaking!" "This ramen is breathtaking!" "That film was breathtaking!"), but seriously, Lukovnikov's color work is breathtaking. He captures light and form with authority, using painterly techniques that make his flowers have a realistic depth to them and gives his animals a furry sheen.
He's also clearly telling us a story. He packs details and information into every shape, and layers and overlaps his subjects so we have to try to peer inside to get the full picture.
