If you're a fan of classic, detailed illustration work, then Florian Bertmer has you covered. A German-born artist currently residing in Los Angeles, Bertmer has an eye for texture, shape, and the macabre. You'll probably recognize his style, too: he's designed record covers and merch for bands such as Napalm Death, Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Misfits, Mastodon and Agoraphobic Nosebleed, to name a few. Feast your eyes on Bertmer's creepy, cult-y, kooky work.
Bertmer's line work is super tight. He's contemporary with the historic, spooky likes of Daniel Clowes, Adrian Tomine, and Charles Burns.
His work really is a feast for the eyes. Every detail helps inform the shape and content of the image — not one line is wasted. Gorgeous.
Bertmer is an inspiring dude. You can check out more of his work at his Instagram, or you can head on over to his store where he sells prints of his work and sundry other fun merch, such as sweet kitsune pins.
