You may not know it but Philadelphia is not only the place where you can eat some of the best cheesesteak sandwiches ever while ogling the Liberty Bell, but it was also the most important city during the American Revolutionary War. Which makes it a perfect place to host a tattoo convention: an event that celebrates independence and freedom of expression! In this guide to the Villain Arts 2019 Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention, happening February 15th-17th, we check out some of the artists who will be there, along with the entertainment, and contests you can get excited for.
There is an insane roster of artists this year including Tattoodo Ambassador Veronique Imbo! Cassie Lynn O'Neal and Aaron Francione of the Philly mainstay studio Seven Swords will be there, as well Jack Poohvis of Fleur Noire, a studio based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Jesse Rix will be tatting up clients with his mind-blowing galaxy realism. Mike Attack will be slaying the game with his vivid designs. Rodrigo Canteras is coming over from Five Points, while Phil Hatchet Yau will be slangin' his clean as f*** Traditional work, and Big Meas will be making lettering dreams come true. And this is just the beginning....
As if the artists won't be enough life affirming goodness for ya, the line-up for entertainment is pretty wild. Marlo Marquis will be doing a show, we assume it will involve suspension and eating fire...Shannon Sexton will be doing her graceful aerial dances above all our heads. Couple duo Olde City Sideshow will be hammering nails into their noses, and the surreally silly burlesque group Thunder Snow Cone will be sure to have you thoroughly pleased with their radical acts.
We're positive that this is a few days in Philly that you won't want to miss. Tickets for the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention aren't sold out either! You can get them here, or at the event. Hope to see you there!
