For all you hip gamer geeks out there that love to catch the cutest and most powerful fighting friends: these Pokemon tattoos are for you!

Okay, so Pokemon is probably one of the most iconic and beloved cartoons, and games, within the history of mankind, right? Many generations would include the fun little fighting friends as one of their most pivotal childhood memories, and even people who didn't play the card game, probably watched the show. Or had a little brother or sister who did. So it just makes sense that this quintessential Japanese gift has spawned tons of Pokemon tattoos, tv shows, toys, clothing, and even a short lived theme park! These Pokemon tattoos are a mainstay of geekdom and gamer ink, which we couldn't be more thankful for.

Created in 1995 by Satoshi Tajiri, the Pokemon franchise is actually a consortium of Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures and is often known by the name Pocket Monsters in its home country. The whole premise is that these fun little guys, held within their pokeballs, are collected by humans, Pokemon Trainers, who battle them for sport. Cuz why not, right? It's a whole lot cuter, and more animal friendly than cock sparring or dog fights! And makes for way cooler tattoos, obvs. Pokemon tattoos come in so many forms, because there are so many Pokemon, and so many characters to love and admire!

Via the lovely and all knowing Pokemon Wiki page: "It spans a video game series, a trading card game, an anime television series, a film series, books, manga comics, music, toys, and merchandise. Pokémon is the highest-grossing media franchise of all time, with over $70 billion in revenue up until March 2017. It includes the world's top-selling toy brand, the top-selling trading card game with over 25.7 billion cards sold, the second best-selling video game franchise (behind Nintendo's Mario franchise) with more than 300 million copies sold and over 800 million mobile downloads, and the most successful television show based on a video game with 20 seasons and over 1,000 episodes." Oddly enough Wikipedia failed to mention the number of Pokemon tattoos the franchise has inspired...but that's what we're here for, huh? Send us your Pokemon tattoos!! We wanna catch em all!
