Because, truly, every person who searches for that probably has a different idea about what beauty means...because it's usually based on personal preferences, or cultural ideals, or standards based within that moment of time. Beauty is finite. Ugliness is infinite, like God.” Food for thought, for sure.
Of course, a lot of people think beauty has nothing to do with whats going on physically at all. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, an American Swiss psychiatrist is quoted as saying, "The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.” Interesting...but it doesn't really help us when we're looking at art. Or does it? Perhaps the whole "beautiful tattoos" thing just refers to the feelings we get when we're looking at an awesome piece? Because, surely, emotions and feelings have a lot to do with art, and why we like to look at it so much. Especially tattoos...these pieces can be inspiring, transformative, and empowering.
