Listen to Tommy With a Candle Burning: Rock and Roll Tattoos

These Rock and Roll tattoos will fill you that deep sense of wanderlusting nostaligia.

There was one point in our lives when watching Almost Famous on an almost weekly basis was mandatory. Just the thought of traveling back in time to one of the greatest era's of music history, hanging out with the coolest bands, and feeling our souls ignite with a million others while our favorite songs were sung was enough to get us through high school without wanting to die. So, although this is a selection of rock and roll tattoos, you can be sure that it is also an homage to one of our most beloved movies that captured all of those incredible moments in such incredible artistry.

From Penny Lane and Russell Hammond to Lester Bangs and William Miller, the movie is chock full of characters, real and imaginary, that we just totally resonate with. Not to mention a million quotable moments. Personally, we know this collection of rock and roll tattoos includes a couple nods to The Doors, but we couldn't have giggled in glee when Lester Bangs dismisses Jim Morrison as "a drunken buffoon." But perhaps, as much as we would've killed to be Penny Lane...in the end it was Sapphire that really stole our hearts. That moment when she says, "They don't even know what it is to be a fan. Y'know? To truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts." That. That is what it's all about.

So, ya know, you don't have to be a band-aid to totally dig these rock and roll tattoos. Maybe you can just totally love Thin Lizzy or Led Zeppelin. Maybe you just love rock journalism...or maybe you remember Almost Famous as that movie that had one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's most incredibly underrated roles. Whatever it is, we hope these pieces shoot you back into that time..."Does anyone remember laughter?!"
