Perhaps they are minimal, or bold Blackwork, or even highly realistic...no matter what, flower tattoos are a beautiful go to design concept that never fails to impress or produce happiness. Current favorites are roses and peonies, but every flower makes for a good tattoo. One of the awesome aspects of flower tattoos is that even with such a simple idea, an artist can create something that inspires and shows their aesthetic clearly. No artist produces exactly the same work, each takes their own spin or style on a piece. Peonies are a perfect example: there are 4 peonies in this collection, and each is perfectly it's own creation.
One of our favorite flower quotes comes from the film Harold and Maude. They're in a hot house full of flowers, when Maude asks Harold what kind of flower he'd want to be. He motions to a bunch of simple, small Daisies and says, "I don’t know. One of these maybe?" When she asks him why, he shrugs, "Because they are all alike.." Maude smiles, and replies, "Oooh, but they are not. Look. See – some are smaller, some are fatter, some grow to the left, some to the right, some even have lost some petals – all kinds of observable differences. You see, Harold, I feel that much of the world’s sorrow comes from people who are this, and allow themselves to be treated as that…Each person is different, never existed before and never to exist again. Just like this daisy – an individual…"
Beautiful sentiment, huh? We think flower tattoos perfectly capture this. Each person, each artist, each flower is different. Even the meanings behind flowers differ, which makes flower tattoos even cooler! We hope this collection of ink inspires you. If you got a flower tattoo, which one would it be and why?
