Tattoo artists, vendors, collectors, & enthusiasts alike will make their way to Maui over the weekend for the debut of the Pacific Ink and Art Expo in Lahaina — the first in the Valley Isle’s history.
PIAE Maui will be an intimate affair, a scaled down version of what we’ve seen in Oahu, but when it comes to tattoo conventions, size doesn’t always matter.
From the birth of PIAE, convention organizers aimed to foster a celebration with Hawaiian culture at the forefront, but with all sides of the art form included as well. Aside from modern-day tattooing, guests will get the unique chance to witness the ancient Polynesian and Hawaiian tradition of hand-tapping (Tatau and Kakau) from real-deal cultural practitioners of the craft like Sulu'ape Keone Nunes.
From live musical acts, to dancing, drawing and painting, it’s sure to be a fun weekend. Don’t worry if you can’t make the trip to paradise to take it all in for yourself, we’ll be there to cover the debauchery. So bring the wife, bring the kids, hell, bring the whole family, there will be something for everyone at this weekend’s Hawaii Tattoo Convention.
