Tattooist and Fine Artist Jess Hannigan

Jess Hannigan is a professional artist and creative tattooist specialising in watercolor and abstract imagery.

Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Jess Hannihgan has been tattooing for four years. Jess has a strong artistic vision:

“I am heavily inspired by nature and captivated by colour and movement. I seem to always strive for a sense of surrealist freedom in my work, which is why I have a deep connection with the fluid, and often irrational mediums of watercolours. Although, my relationship with water colour painting is long, tattooing as a medium is relatively new for me."

For Jess, who also goes by the name of Little Miss Jess, tattooing is a personal art form and she believes "[it] feels like a direct connection to my roots and a times of old."

Her fascination lies in the self-expressions that goes hand-in-hand with tattooing: "The form and desire to mark the body with illustrations containing personal responses to themselves and their experiences is one that has a history as long as human kind."

Jess feels incredibly humbled to be able to tattoo people and, as she says, "sharing not only a story of life, but a piece of myself with every tattoo I do."
