Mi nombre es Rafa Garabal.
Empecé a tatuar profesionalmente a principios de 2012, después de varios años dedicándome a un campo muy diferente: la Enfermería.
Una vez encontré la manera, abandoné un trabajo para dedicarme a una pasión, aunque siempre usando agujas como instrumento principal.
Me encanta tatuar a color, cada vez más, aunque como me siento totalmente cómodo es tatuando en negro y gris.
En mi trabajo se puede apreciar el uso de una buena cantidad de negro y líneas, incluso en mis piezas más “realistas”.
El alto contraste entre el negro y la piel, con grises suaves que favorezcan las transiciones, la atención a los detalles y texturas son los elementos que intento usar para conseguir el resultado deseado.
Me especializo sobre todo en 2 estilos de Tatuaje, aunque por supuesto también puedo realizar tatuajes de otros estilos:
Por un lado las piezas en negro y gris, realistas y muchas veces con toques “dark”, que van desde calaveras, rosas, a retratos de animales, caras, etc.
Por otro piezas con un look más gráfico, usando colores fluidos y “manchas” de tinta o pinceladas que aportan contraste al realismo.
Aparte del Tatuaje, me encanta experimentar con óleo, tinta sobre papel y otros medios. Mi técnica preferida es el lápiz o carbón sobre papel.
My name is Rafa Garabal.
I started to tattoo professionally in the beginning of 2012, after some years working in a very different field: Nursery.
Once I found the way, I quit my old job to start dedicating myself to my passion, even though using needles as my main instrument.
I love to make color tattoos, more and more every time, but I feel really confortable tattooing in black and grey.
In my work you can see the use of a good amount of black and lines, even in my most “realistic” pieces.
High contrast between black and skin, soft shading and attention to detail and textures are the elements I try to use to achieve the desired result.
I specialize in 2 styles of tattooing, even though I can tattoo in many other styles:
In one hand, there is Black and Grey, realistic tattoos, with a “dark” twist in many cases. In this kind of tattoos you can find skulls, roses, animal portraits, faces, etc.
In the other hand, I usually make tattoos with a more graphic look, using fluid colors and ink splashes or “brushstrokes”, that make a good contrast with realism.
Apart from tattooing, I really love to experiment with oil painting, ink on paper and other mediums, but my favorite technique is graphite and charcoal on paper.
