- The Bone Collector - These two designs are very close to my heart. I worked on them during lockdown, after reading (again) chapter 1 of Women Who Run With Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. “The sole work of La Loba is the collecting of the bones. She collects and preserves those things that are in danger of being lost to the world.” She finds them and keeps them until you are ready to be restored again. So, when I talk of La Loba, I am referring to those parts of you that were lost, given away, or stolen. I am referring to those “bones” that we need to bring back to us.” A powerful tale that invites us to look inwards and take a journey of self discovery. In many ways, in many other situations, we can apply traditional material to modern fabric, creating something appealing. But to be able to keep on doing that, combining elements, traditions have to be preserved. With the right people at the right time, you just have to give them the best artwork in respect to all the historical accuracy that they deserve, and will definitely cherish.The hardest part in such designs when you are blueprinting a tattoo on the human body is the accuracy in respect to traditions. All of these are one-off tattoos. Once I tattoo something off a flash sheet - I don't tattoo it again, but I am more than happy to draw up something similar.
